The Steinel 34875 electronics kit features an HG 2310 LCD heat gun that delivers continuously variable airstreams from 3.6 to 17.6 cubic feet per minute (CFM) at temperatures ranging from 120 to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit, along with accessories for a variety of electronic applications. Resembling a hair dryer, the programmable gun has lockable override control of temperature and airflow settings, four pre-set temperature/airflow programs, a cool air stage, and an LCD that displays temperatures in 10-degree increments. The kit includes three reflector nozzles for shrink tubing and wiring harnesses, and a reducer nozzle for desoldering. A heavy-duty carrying case provides safe transport and storage.

Heat guns are hand tools that emit a stream of heated air at variable temperatures up to 1,300 degrees Fahrenheit (700 Celsius). These tools typically have an electrical heating element to control output temperatures and adjustable fan motors to regulate and focus airflow. Heat guns with high airflow output (greater than approximately 20 cubic feet per minute) are sometimes referred to as heat blowers. They can be used for a variety of applications, from copper and plastic welding to touching up shrink wrap. Accessory nozzles (sold separately) can be used to shape the air stream over a wider area or direct it around pipes and tubing for even heating, preventing adjoining surfaces (such as panes of glass) from overheating. Some heat gun models incorporate workbench stands to allow for hands-free operation.
